Busy Week!

The Fringe Festival
I spent much of my time this week at the Seattle Fringe Festival. I volunteered for a number of shifts (and met nice people like Brenna, Lisa and Rod) and went a few other nights to catch even more shows. Productions I enjoyed: linger, See Me Naked, Cherry, Cherry, Lemon, Attaboy and Burke's Surreal Medicine Show, Burnman Now, A Holiday Hullabaloo, A Dying Art, and Money for Old Rope.

Friday night was Hedwig!

Hegwid and the Angry Inch
It was a good week for theatre! The same week as the festival, I went out with coworkers Megan, Dustin, Erin, and Elisa to see Hedwig and the Angry Inch. What a high energy show!

The Re-bar
The show was at the Re-bar... a bar with a theatre in the back. It was a fun venue, I liked their sign, and I look forward to returning in May for a Drag King show. :)

Hedwig's opening number
Who ever knew a rock opera about a botched sex change could be so fun and so moving?

A first!
I wonder if I'm maturing or if the costume people were just that good? This production was the first time I've seen a man in drag and liked his looks more out of drag.

Saturday was St. Patrick's Day

Dick's
Seeing a crowd at the Seattle burger chain Dick's is not unusual. What was unusual was seeing a few clowns, complete with makeup and big shoes. Bizarre!

O'Shea's
The afternoon began early with drinking at O'Shea's Easy Street Tavern.

Bizarre, again
Little did I expect to glance out the window and see the crowns from Dick's show up at O'Sheas... it's like they were following me!

It's like they were everywhere...

Kim
In town for the day, Kim joins the crowd for St. Patrick's Day celebrating! (Tisen refused to hold still for even a second so he doesn't get a photo)...

Just us girls
We seem pretty happy, and why shouldn't we be? It's a lovely afternoon in March with bagpipers, beer, and lots of rowdy people. :) I even drank a hard cider in an attempt to contribute to the rowdiness.

Little green lovin'
Chris bonds with a leperchan she snagged from the walls. She knew she had to bring something to her potluck, and the happy little fella just happened to be hanging around nearby...

A man and his corned beef
This man joined us at our table for a plate of corned beef and cabbage. He looked so happy I couldn't not take his picture. "Best meal of his life," he claimed. Scary, if you ask me.

Drinking Contest
Nothing says St. Patty's Day like a drinking contest between friends. :) Here, Jane and Eli chug Guinness at Hattie's Hat during dinner.

The Samples
After leaving the U-District, we headed to Ballard to see the Samples play a show at the Firehouse. Their music was okay, but wasn't quite my thing. They were whiney at times, were hard to find much of a beat to dance to, and were packed with lots of drunk frat boys. Ah well. Not bad, but not quite my scene...

After the Samples, the evening ended on a good note... it was kinda late, but we were refreshed by nice sugary donuts and ice cold milk at Dan's apartment. :) Thanks for hosting us Dan! G'night!
