The New Seattle Library
May 2004

I joined 40,000 other revelers and went to the opening day celebration of our internationally acclaimed, new, cool, hip Seattle Public Library. It's so hip you're even allowed to drink coffee inside it now. Wow! I took some pics and posted them below, but didn't get to take many inside since the crowds were pretty darn thick on opening day.

Inside there were 100s of computers and 1,000s of people

There were also cafes, couches, gift shops, and even books

One floor's ceilings and walls were all red. This main told me it was "Rather auto-erotic, don't you think?"

Another woman told me "It's just like walking into someone's intestines!"
