July adventures!

July was a busy month... and I've been pretty bad about getting all of my pictures up from then. It's now November and I'm proud to say this is the final chunk of stuff from that month. (Proudly, I got pics of camping and Texas and gnomes all up already!)

Like Father, Like Son
I think it was in July that I first met Dieter's dad. He's in town every so often on business trips, so Dieter and I went down to the airport and met up with him for dinner. Not only do I love this photo because he and his dad are so similar (minus size), it brings back great memories of the night as Dieter was pretty delerious. It was only of the only times in life I've ever seen him babbling and fully crazy. It was wonderfully endearing and quite fantastic. :)

Trip to Ivar's
Jake knew Ivar's was famous not only for fish and chips, but also for the opportunity to feed the dirty gulls right at your outside dining table! He's good!

Beal gives it a try
Not quite so hip on the bird thing, Beal gives it a try anyway...

Smiley
Kristy's a SA girl and she came up to visit from Portland. I can't remember if she actually fed the birds of not. Alas...

Money Shot
I look quite silly in this photo! I didn't feel timid during the process, but looking back at this photo I seem kinda surprised by all of the birds dive-bombing me.

Old Man Ivar
Our whole crew gathers around the Old Man Ivar statue... namesake for fish and chips restaurants all over Seattle.

Prize Mullet
After lunch, we wandered down the pier to people watch and check out the sights. I'm proud of my quick handling here and my ability to snap Beal with this fine Mullet that passed us by.

Storm Trooper?
Even more bizarre than a full mullet, there was a random storm trooper just strolling down the pier. Again, I'm pretty proud of the quick shot in capturing this random character.

To the Hill...
From downtown we headed up to my home, Capital Hill. Beal and Kristy pose with good ol' Jimi Hendrix. :)

Sweet puppy
We wanted to get Beal a nose piercing that night, but the lines were too long. So, instead we played with the sweet puppy of one of the piercers.

What a day...
If all that wandering wasn't enough, that evening we went to the Capital Hill Block Party to see more freaks and listen to great local music. We saw a few bands, but I was most excited to see Mudhoney perform. My camera battery died by that point, but I did get the drag queens that were MC'ing.

Skip forward one weekend

Elisa and Bart
Elisa and Bart... I'm not sure when this photo is from, but it's the skirt she bought to wear in her mom's wedding. They're quite a lovely couple. :)

Chad and Cheyenne
Also cute, but far from a couple, are my next-door neighbors, Chad and Cheyenne. Here they model their matching outfits from Old Navy! Too funny!

Roomies
Me and Beal smile for a not quite glamorous self-portrait. We don't quite do the matching roomies look, but we're still cute.

Hair Cut Day!
Notice the length of the hair... yep, it's pretty long down my back. Chad from Rudy's was my hair dresser and I told him to do anything he liked, as long as it didn't require styling products.

Yikes!
I got it cut, with moral support from Moses and Beal. I was actually quite content with the results... even if it was shorter than it'd been since 3rd grade! Wow!!

Beal and Moses
After the dramatic haircutting session, we headed to la casa de Moses to make some home cooked comfort food. Apparently Moses's hair was bleached blonde that particular week. This summer is changed from red to green to bleached every week or two. Fun stuff! I wasn't that bold, but was content to get a much shorter summer do. :) Like I said, it was a good month!
