Hemp Fest!
"The largest Cannabis policy reform event in the world!" Last year over 150,000 people showed up for the event (see left) and this year's crowd felt just as large! I'm don't use, but I enjoy a free festival with friends on a nice day.

Hippie picking his dirty feet
Yes, where there is pot, there are hippies, and today was no exception. Tons of barefoot hippies graced the crowd, selling pipes, ganja goo balls, etc. ;)

Shoes...
This woman who left her shoes is sure to be a dirty-footed hippie too. :)

Pretzel Toss
There were many policy booths at the fair, encouraging all sorts of reforms. I didn't sign anything at this booth, but thought the pretzel toss was entertaining. :) I was glad to see Dance Safe out there, as well as the Women's Health Clinic, the Q-Patrol, and many others. I did grab literature from the excellent Campaign to label genetically modified foods. www.thecampaign.org
This woman was relaxing while enjoying some psychedelic experiences. Too funny!

Funny Sign
I thought this sign a fabulous addition to the event: Users Keep Right. Funny, but all of the stoners seemed to follow its dictate quite well. :)

Thione Diop
Thione's a great drummer, and I see him play all over town! To my surprise, our friend Rusty was on stage with him too (Rusty's also an amazing drummer!). Thione is from Senegal, while Rusty learned his African drumming on trips all over Africa (Ghana I think).

Feel the groove
The crowd seemed to enjoy the music too, as they got quite a crowd a lot of dancers (including a few women's who'd obviously studied African dance). Nice!

The Beach
All in all, a beautiful day! I went with Evan and Rod, had a good time wandering, watching people, enjoying the park and water, and listening to live music!
