Sunday, July 02, 2000After a very long day of driving, Charles and I made it the 1,200+ miles to Minnesota! Charles and I (and Andy who flew) are all in town to visit Captain Mike for the Fourth of July. We left Friday after work and got in the first five hours of the drive. Got to hang out with Ryan and Laurie... very cool on all accounts. I miss Ryan since he moved and was very excited to see him. And Laurie… it was my first time to actually hang out her and she’s quite neat. Good night all around. The next day we did the rest of the drive (left at 7am and arrived in Minnesota at 11pm). Spent today relaxing in Mike’s new downtown loft apartment… quite swank! Like good tourists, we hit the Mall of America… I only made two purchases… one from the Lego store (cool!) and one from Air Traffic, a store that sells juggling equipment, yo-yos, kites, etc. Very fun stores! Wish we had those in Houston. Ah well. We just caught the fire works display from Taste of Minnesota and we're now back at the apartment, playing with Legos, watching movies, and eating cheese curds... mmmmm! Good times so far… Am glad we made the trek! It’s none to often we get to see Mike or Andy… much less in the same city! Yeah!
