You can mention drag queens to anyone and they'll generally be able to produce an instant image of men parading around in women's clothing. Mention you're going to a drag king show, though, and you'll often get a confused "what do you mean?" Before moving to Seattle, it never occurred to me that there might be drag kings, much less a thriving drag king community. Learn something new every day! (Thanks Brett! Hootenanny is a TV/radio show here in Seattle for public access. My first Drag King show was filmed for TV! What a great introduction!

I've seen him around town a few times... not sure if he's in drag or not, but either way he achieved that perfect 'Vegas Cheese' look!

All in all, a great intro to the drag king scene. Little did I know a month or two later Dieter and I would go out for the first time... to a drag king show of all things. :)
