Week!

In my life, there are many goofy, whack, random, fun, exciting or
boring things I'd like to do before I die. One of them has been to be an
extra in a movie. I've never really cared if I was going to be in a
crowd
scene of 20,000 or if I was going to get to deliver flowers to the
biggest Hollywood star.... I just wanted to be in a movie.

Well, two weeks ago I met this guy Stan. He was the props guy for
this CBS Movie of the Week that they were filming in Austin. I could
tell Stan kinda liked me... so I politely inquired about how one might get
to be in a movie, say as an extra. He said "Oh here. Call this number
and tell 'em you're a friend of mine and they'll stick ya in. I'm Stan."

So I called and they called back and told me I would go in to shoot
on Tuesday and be an extra. So then today was Tuesday, I went in, and we
filmed! And they even paid me for it!! It's a beautiful world!

I was expecting a tiny little part in a dull scene where I'd probably
end up on the cutting room floor. What I got to do was be a waitress (in
a lovely little yellow dress) and serve food and check on customers and
stuff. I was pretty psyched! It was way cool. Got to do the entire
wardrobe thing (most extras don't) complete with goofy wardrobe guy.
"You're so cuuuuuute!!! I love this dress on you! Oh, I could just puke
you're so cute!!!" Sad, but he really did think I was cute. He wanted
me to put this full slip on under the dress and I didn't know if I was
supposed to keep my bra on or not, so I asked him and he replied "It's on
of those movies!" He was cool. His name was Stephen, but
he refered to himself as "Saint Stephen de Paul." Gotta love 'em!

I wore a lovely yellow
waitress dress that buttoned up the front. Minor problem, but the fabric
between the buttons that covered my chest kept coming open (I got to flash
Stephen a few times). So, (trick of the trade... get ready), they took out
the handy dandy toupee tape and taped my dress together so the fabric
wouldn't bunch open. Groovin' secret, eh? Now you know.

I got to hang with Howard (the PM), with the producer (he said I did
"a really great job"), the grips, gaffes, best boys, and all of the
rest of the crew. And of course I got to meet and hang for a little bit
with the cute adorable little girl in the movie and with Nicolette
Sharotin. She was so gorgeous and very sweet too. Chain smoker if
there ever was one, even at 7am, but still very sweet and friendly. So,
it was cool.

Remember this info! Take Notes! There will be a quiz later.
